Mountain Biking for Beginners

Our two sons have just taken up downhill mountain biking and we are thinking of going to France this summer and taking the mountain bikes along. Can anyone suggest places to do some mountain biking and places to stay. We have always gone to the Western side of France, but are extremely interested in learning more of what the east side has to offer. The boys (13 %26amp; 14) are only beginners, so nothing too taxing would be the ticket. We are open to any suggestions, even if it is not in this area, if you know somewhere better to do instead. We like walking, swimming, watersports and horse riding. Anything outdoors is great. Anything in relation to ferry crossing etc would be appreicated also. Thanks in advance.

Not sure whether you want to be near the coast or inland near mountains.

We have a bed and breakfast in the heart of the midi pyrenees, ideal for mountain biking with some fantastic routes.

We are only 7km from the border of Spain too so easy access to mountain biking routes in Spain.
