Alsace or Provence

Hi All,

Need some help planning our next trip in early September. Hubby and I, together with our 18 year old son are having trouble deciding between Alsace or Provence.

On our last trip the highlights for us were Paris Bayeux, Loire Valley, Mont st michel, Salat, Rocamadour and Carcassonne.

This time round we are spending some time in Paris, a week in Switzerland and not sure whether to choose Provence or Alsace. We would like to stay in the one place or maybe split the time between 2 places in the same region. We mostly travel long distances by train but are happy to get a car to do some local exploration.

I am sure we will be back in France again but we normally have to travel in November and this may be our only chance to be in France during September.

Any thoughts from those that have done both regions.
