French cloth , Lacoste & Faconable, is it cheaper in Paris &

French cloth , Lacoste %26amp; Faconable, is it cheaper in Paris %26amp; where I can find it.

I like both the Faconable and Lacoste quality and design, but usually they are expensive in US and you do not find them in outlet malls? Does they have something like outlet malls in Paris to buy these brands at sale prices? Any one can help.

The last I heard, Faconable is owned by Nordstrom so unlikely to be less expensive in Paris.

|||

Nordstrom%26#39;s sold off the FAÇONNABLE %26#39;brand%26#39; (based in Nice) to a private, mixed investment group back in 2007--

LACOSTE retook control of its %26#39;brand%26#39; and distinctive logo from the David Crystal group a few years ago after lagging sales and a belief that the value of the LACOSTE %26#39;brand%26#39; was being diluted by the IZOD %26#39;brand%26#39;.

To the best of my knowledge, apart from direct retail stores in Paris, there are no discounted %26#39;outlet stores%26#39; in Paris for either brand....nor are prices significantly lower than in the US shops.

|||

Many thanks for the info, So no Outlet stores or malls that sell these brands? Any one knows. I will be in Paris for few days next month and was wondering if I can stock up, mainy men cloth :)

I can%26#39;t actually remember seeing people wearing lacoste in Paris - I am sure they must, but I can%26#39;t remember noticing.

I would remember, too - I was a big Lacoste fan back in the last century

There is an %26#39;..outlet mall..%26#39;--LA VALLÉE VILLAGE-- well east of Paris, near DisneyLand Paris, near MARNE LA VALLÉE-CHESSY RER, at the end on the RER %26#39;A-4%26#39; ligne. There is a FAÇONNABLE shop here...but no LACOSTE.

There is also the huge LES QUATRE TEMPS shopping mall, located west of Paris at LA DÉFENSE. There is a LACOSTE shop out here...but I%26#39;m pretty sure that it is simply another retail shop...as opposed to any sort of discounted %26#39;outlet%26#39; shop.

It was The Crocodile himself, Rene Lacoste who bought back his name so he could control exposure and quality - I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll find the brand in outlets any more - that would be counter productive.

I%26#39;ve heard that anything that doesn%26#39;t meet his quality standard is burned in order to keep it out of outlets. I don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s true, but it sounds as though it could be.

|||

It%26#39;s possible. David Crystal sold their 50% stake in the LACOSTE marketing license back to the private Le Group Lacoste, the family firm (owned %26amp; managed by his sons) in %26#39;92. Rene Lacoste died in %26#39;96. To the best of my knowledge, the LACOSTE %26#39;brand%26#39; is now licensed to a French clthing manufacturer, DEVANLAY S.A. that actually manufactures and markets LACOSTE products world-wide.

Both Façonnable and Lacoste have outlet stores in Troyes at Mac Arthur Glen Outlet Mall. Check this link for more details.

Troyes is a great little town worth a visit from Paris but finding and going to the various outlets outside town isn%26#39;t that easy. People come from all over France in special bus tours and don%26#39;t even bother to stop in the old town, or only for a quick look and see. Judging by the price of clothes in Europe what they consider cheap isn%26#39;t in the USA (You did mean clothes I hope, didn%26#39;t you? not actually cloth to make clothes?)

TROYES is the headquarters for LACOSTE / DEVANLAY S.A. The town is accessible via SNCF train from PARIS-Gare de l%26#39;Est, in approx. 1:30 hrs. On-line, advance-purchase fares begin at 20€ r.t. for non-changeable PREMs category fares, FULL fare on day-of-travel run approx 45€. This is definitely not an %26#39;..impulse shop..%26#39;.
