Hi In Paris for 4 days and I am travelling with my husband and 2 kids age 10 and 14. What type of train ticket should I buy. I am staying at HOTEL OCEANIA PARIS PORTE DE VERSAILLES 52, rue d’Oradour-sur-Glane. Please help with the ff:
1.What zone is this hotel in.
2.Will this ticket be valid for a day trip to Disneyland.
3. Is there a discount or free pass for kids like they have in London on the train.
Thanks

I%26#39;ll answer what I can - I never travel with young children, so I just don%26#39;t notice any information about them for anything.
The hotel is located in the 15th Arrondissement and on Metro route 12 - close to the southern terminus of the route - Mairie d%26#39;Issy.
It won%26#39;t require any special tickets within Paris as it%26#39;s still within the bounds of the Paris Metro system. It will require special tickets for a day trip to Disneyland.
I can%26#39;t tell whether or not it%26#39;s within the Peripherique - the ring road around the city, but it%26#39;s not quite as inconvenient as it sounds, although it%26#39;s well out of the centre - it%26#39;s just a businessman%26#39;s hotel, I think.

the hotel is just outside the ring road in a rather boring area with army barracks, a exhibition hall etc. I definitely would cancel that hotel! not an unsafe area but just not where you want to be as a tourist. And please buy a map of Paris!
Anyway, to go from anywhere in Paris to Disneyland you need to take the RER and this requires a different ticket from the metro.
Children from 4 to 9 years of age inclusive can travel with “t+ tickets” from a half-price carnet as with the old t ticket. t+ tickets are single trip tickets. 1 adult ticket is 1,60 Euros. 10 tickets are 11,40 Euros for adults and 1/2 price for children under 9.
there is a pass called Paris Visite. Adults: 19,60 Euros for 3 days and 28,30 E. for 5 days (no 4 days). 3 days for 9.80 Euros for children 4-11 and 14,15 E. for 5 days. see www.ratp.info/informer/anglais/ticket_t.php

I%26#39;ll echo the comments of both replies above re the hotel... unless there is a very good reason you are staying there (attending an exhibition, friends live nearby) you really should find a better location.
I see some people who stayed there talk about a 30 minute metro ride to get to many of the main sites. Also, the only view from the hotel appears to be of the Peripherique. The prices don%26#39;t seem that good there either. ;^(

Most people would recommend staying in the 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th.
You can do a search using the box as the top of this page... type in %26quot;Left Bank Hotels,Paris%26quot; and you%26#39;ll find lots of suggestions.

Hi, which travel zone is this hotel in. I see the website you referred me to has two types of prices, one for Zone 1 to 3 snd another for zone 1 to 6. Which one do I need to purchase. Thanks

Hi, ignore my previous email. I was able to download a zone map, and I see it is in zone 1. Thanks
