Gites

We would like to rent a Gite somewhere in Provence, Gordes area maybe, we have never done his before so would appreciate advice. we are looking for reasonably priced accommodation with at least 2 bedrooms and some mod cons. not too rural and with some local shops for groceries. must be scenic as my husband likes to paint.

It would be September/09 for 2-3 weeks.

We rented Gite # 2171 from the Gite de France program. It was several years ago, but I see that it is still listed. It was a couple of kilometres from Gordes and overlooked a poppy field. It was a lovely setting but not w/in walking distance of stores. It was very scenic and would be a wonderful place for an artist. It had 3 bedrooms (I see that it%26#39;s listed as 4 bedrooms; maybe they added on?). The kitchen was well-equipped, and the place was very comfortable and built in a style that is %26quot;typique de Provence%26quot;, as our French friends said who visited.

Look at my Trip Advisor review for Chateau de La Loubiere. They have a choice of 3 gites. It is in Pertuis, 30 mins from Marseille, 20 mins Aix en Provence and about 30 mins from Gordes.

We have been to Provence for the past 10 years and discovered this about 3 years ago and not would not stay anywhere else. It is a fabulous base for discovering Provence. The owners are English and are very knowledgeable about the local area. Would be perfect for your husband%26#39;s painting
