If you mean by metro line 4, it is 17 minutes plus any walking inside the underground

okay thanks that seems quite quick as it looks quite a long way from North to South Paris.

Paris isn%26#39;t as big a it looks. Walking from the Boulevard Peripherique (ring road) on the North to the same Boulevard on the South side would takes about 3 hours--without stopping anywhere--

ten minutes on metro,, this is a guestimite.

My rough estimate when gauging metro travel is to assign 1 or 1.5 minutes per stop on the route.

ok thanks for the replies, how much roughly would a ticket be from Gare Du Nord to Vavin? Also is it straightforward to Paris Metro tickets at Gare Du Nord for an english speaker with little french?

It%26#39;s a regular metro ticket, under 2€ - you can buy a %26#39;carnet%26#39; of them, which is a pack of 10 tickets, for around 11.40€. You can try using an automated machine (like an ATM) or you can go to a ticket window - these are located in a large hall just before you reach the metro entrances to the tunnels.
