is air conditioning necessary?

We will be renting an apartment in Lyon for 3 weeks, beginning in late June. We want to be comfortable and wondered whether air conditioning is necessary. Thanks!

Apartments don%26#39;t have air conditionning here. Except for a few hot days in July/August, we don%26#39;t miss it as the apartments are generally well ventilated and isolated (not to mention the ecological issue if the whole world would use A/C as Northern American do!).

You don%26#39;t mention where you come from; if you are used to A/C at home and need it when summer weather becomes warm, you should go to a hotel.
