I am landing in paris that morning. Any news on the effects on transportation to the city from the airport and if sites and museums will be closed. Will it be safe?

We land that morning too and have hired a car service to take us to our apartment. I think as long as we get to our apartment we will be fine. I am not sure if anything will be closed other thatn bus and metro. We plan to wander around our neighborhood, go grocery shopping and whatever else we decide. I have never felt unsafe in Paris (this is time #3) so I expect everything will be fine. We are looking at this as another adventure in our trip. Enjoy Paris!

They will not announce who exactly is striking until the day before. It is their way of making life as difficult for the rest of us and they put off anouncing hoping to negotiate the max. participation.
Traditionally there will be some RER service into the city from the airport. Traditionally int%26#39;l flights are untouched. Traditionally museums close, but I am not sure they did for the January strike. In January the metro ran almost normally. All this is merely precedent. Not sure what the reality will be later in the week, but will be sure to share once it is posted.

Thanks Phread. I will check this site before we board our plane Wednesday. However, we are so excited and as I have said once we get to our apartment we will be fine! We are going to be in Paris and that suffices.

I%26#39;m in Paris right now, and just heard about the strike this morning on a Paris Walks tour. What I heard was pretty much as Phread indicated.
