A night away from Paris w/ my 12 yr old; JUST Fougere?

He%26#39;s a typical active kid; I%26#39;m trying to balance a great experience for him with the limited time we have.

Given that we%26#39;ll be traveling train/bus, is adding Mont St. Michel realistic, or should we just stick to the castle in Fougere? I assume we%26#39;ll TGV to Rennes and stay the night in Fougere, but I have no idea about travel times to/from the three cities.

Any advice would be appreciated!

We just returned, and I thought I%26#39;d add a comment for others who may be interested.

The castle at Fougere is HIGHLY recommended. We had a great time climbing and exploring. If you have kids, go.

Having said that, I%26#39;d suggest budgeting 2 - 3 hours tops, and adding other sites to your trip as well--depending on your time.

We made a day trip out of it from Paris, and, if I had it to do over again, I would have gone to Mt St Michel as well.

But do make the effort to see Fougeres. It%26#39;s worth it and your kids will thank you.
