Can I get from CDG to Paris with luggage on metro?

I would like to take metro from CDG to the Ecole Militaire metro station. Is it possible to take a large (not huge, large) suitcase on wheels on the metro? Can one get past turnstiles and use the escalators? Are elevators available at the stops? Thanks for any advice your can provide.

Yes, it%26#39;s possible (if the bag isn%26#39;t too big). I frequently take the metro with one carry on size roller bag. At the turnstiles, there are a few sections to slide your suitcase through, and it%26#39;s not a problem to let your suitcase occupy the step above or below you on the escalators. Just be sure to keep your bag out of the way for passengers boarding and exiting the RER (you%26#39;ll be taking RER B from the airport, not the metro, by the way)

Assuming you%26#39;ve no serious physical mobility problems or other %26#39;special needs%26#39; concerns...SURE...you can most certainly navigate both the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne and onward Metro connections with a large case. My wife somehow manages it with a large wheeled case and a small tote...and she%26#39;s never been recruited by an eastern-European Olympic weightlifting team.

BUT---if your destination is the neighborhood of ECOLE MILITAIRE Metro...RER %26amp; onward Metro may not be your best choice of the airport transfer...as it requires two(2) train/ligne changes en route.

A better solution might be the ROISSYBUS (8,60€..no onward Metro fare included) from stops outside CDG arrival terminal buildings...to its terminus in Paris near Place de l%26#39;Opéra (at 11 rue Scribe %26amp; rue Auber), then across the street and down into the OPÉRA Metro for the #8 Metro ligne (heading in the direction of Balard) to ECOLE MILITAIRE . As an alternative to the onward Metro, you also have the option of taking a TAXI PARISIAN from the regular rank near the ROISSYBUS stop, across town to your destination in the 7eme (approx 10€-12€).

It%26#39;s possible. I%26#39;ve done it for decades. Don%26#39;t depend on elevators. I%26#39;ve never seen one in any metro station I%26#39;ve been in. Maybe they exist, but I%26#39;ve just never seen one.

And don%26#39;t depend on escalators either, although they exist, just not everywhere and many times I%26#39;ve gotten off the RER, from the airport, at ST.Michel and that huge escalator that is, the longest escalator that I%26#39;ve ever seen in my life, has been out of order. So, I%26#39;ve had to carry my suitcase up it. Then I transfer to the Cluny-Sorbonne metro station from there.

As for the turnstiles, I just push the suitcase under it. Happy Travels!

I think Roissy bus to Opera then Metro 8 to Ecole Militaire is best. But I have done RER to Metro to Bir Hakiem w/ luggage and although lots of walking and stairs and I%26#39;m a women in late 50%26#39;s I made it.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;And don%26#39;t depend on escalators either, although they exist%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;

Most RER stations in Paris have escalator service at at least one of (but NOT all) exits from the station. FEW Metro stations (the notable exception being the relatively new #14 Metro ligne stations) have escalator service.

As a general rule, the escalators at RER stations usually %26#39;work%26#39;. Escalators at the FEW metro stations so equipped are usually there only as a place to display %26#39;Out-of-Service%26#39; signage (the notable exception still the #14 ligne stations) or serve as %26#39;spare parts bins%26#39; to keep RER escalators operating (or at least so it seems). Metro station equipped with elevators are few and far between...and often finding the elevator in those that have %26#39;em (usually so well hidden that even station personnel need a map and a guide dog to find it) can be difficult.
