Good restaurant in Marais area?

We%26#39;re trying to find a good restaurant for our40th anniversary(29th july)we%26#39;re staying in Hotel villa Beaumarchais.Would want French food and don%26#39;t mind taking a taxi.We would like somewhere special with atmosphere but not too formal, and as it is a special occassion we%26#39;re prepared to blow the budget.Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

You are staying in the northern part of the Marais (the third) but I would recommend Le Tastevin on Ile St Louis with a walk around the Ile St Louis (it is traditional, cosy and informal) before wandering over the Pont Louis Philippe after a gaze at the (nicer IMO) view of the back of Notre Dame, up rue du Pont Louis Philippe then across rue de Rivoli and a coffee or nightcap while people watching at one of the cafes on rue Vieille du Temple such as Les Philosphes on the corner of rue du Tresor and then a walk home or a taxi

Thanks very much for your quick reply. looked up their web site and it%26#39;s just the sort of place we%26#39;re looking for.Liked your ideas for afterwards too.Much appreciated, thanks again.

I will second Le Tastevin, lovely little French restaurant. It will cost about €100 for two. You will enjoy the walk from your hotel.

However, there are about 7 Michelin 3 star restaurants that could cost as much as €1,000 for two.

Thanks for that. I think we%26#39;ll give the michelin stars a miss!!
