Can anyone recommend a really good %26#39;typically French%26#39; restaurant I can spend my birthday at on Easter Sunday please? Thanks, MrsB.

Le Train Bleu at the Gare de Lyon is a gorgeous place that evokes the Belle Epoque, and it is typical of a brasserie in Paris. Food is good but not MIchelin star quality. A great place to spend a birthday, IMO, and I have done that!

Thanks grandmere3...this looks absolutely wonderful. The only thing is I think it is too fancy for our kids who will be coming with us. They are 13 and 11. Will have to go there sometime with my husband...when we get a babysitter!!!!! Thanks anyway. MrsB.

Unless the restaurant is a budget buster with the kids - take them - at their ages you should be able to rely on them to be in the spirit of the celebration and cooperate with your selection of restaurant. Before you go, just tell them the behaviour you expect of them and then include them in all the conversations exactly as you would adults - they may surprise you with how well they can rise to the occasion.
Although there will probably be a special bill of fare for the holiday, if you have picky eaters, any kitchen in France can provide grilled steak or roast chicken with french fries and will do so with no argument. Servers are accustomed to dealing with foreigners who are not adventurous where food is concerned, and their professionalism carries them through.
