I want to stay in the Marais, and people seemed to have really enjoyed the hotel Castex. However, it doesn%26#39;t appear on any of the usual discount booking sites, such as expedia, travelocity, etc. Can anyone recommend a discount site that I can trust to book? The hotel has a web site, but the prices are much more expensive than people have quoted.
Thanks!

Book directly with the hotel! Following is their website which should have their email address. Booking sites are iffy and mostly charge you a fee. Even worse is when you need to cancel. Booking directly with the hotel you can exchange emails about what type of room you like, what they offer, etc. And usually they just ask for a credit card number to hold the reservation and cancellation policies are usually the least 7 days, many give you up to 48 hours to cancel so it%26#39;s pretty fair.

What %26quot;people%26quot; quoted rates to you? If someone stayed there, how long ago? This used to be a budget hotel but they upgraded in the past couple of years, remodeled, etc - that is why their rates are higher (also have A/C).
Try contacting them and ask what their best rate is for a %26#39;double%26#39; or %26#39;twin%26#39; or whatever it is you prefer. You never know... I looked on a couple other reliable sites and they show the same prices... also, the %26#39;deals%26#39; are going to be in late July-August, and Jan-March...

I tried to book the Hotel Castex via their web site. I sent in one reservation request a month ago and after no reply for 3 weeks, I submitted another request. Again no reply for one week. Since I was looking for May dates, I was getting nervous about them selling out. So, this morning, I called them from Hawaii (11 hours time difference) and talked to a man who said I could have the dates I wanted and to send them another e-mail via their web site with my credit card # and expiration date to hold the reservation. He said that after he receives that information he will send me a confirmation e-mail. I use one particular credit card for sending information over the internet so I can track its charges daily via the internet.
