If you are in Provence this summer and are looking for suggestions for day tours, here is the first themed suggested itinerary to visit medieval abbeys of Provence. The map is interactive so you can customize your itinerary from your departure point, or split the tour if you wish to spend more time at each site. There is practical information as many sites are exclusively in French.
By organizing by theme you can increase your knowledge level for example on romanesque religious architecture, the Cistercian Order,... tourism and culture, great combination!
Others itineraries will follow.

great idea. We once thought of covering Europe with a trip through Cistercian monasteries.
Don%26#39;t forget Thoronet. It was quite lovely.

Yes, definitely le Thoronet will be part of Abbeys of Provence 2 as the location puts it more on the other side of Marseille towards Frejus and there are a couple of other abbeys that way. My initial thought was a %26quot;Cistercian Abbeys Itinerary%26quot; but then opted for a geographical approach for a practical driving question as there are many abbeys in fact! Glad to hear that you find the themed trip interesting. Thanks for your input, it is very much appreciated.
