Running in Tours

Hi!

I%26#39;m coming the next two weeks in Tours. My hobby is running, how can I easily find out the nice places to run. Sandy roads, large parks etc.?

Is anybody who could help me?

Thanks,

Probaby easiest is to look at Google Maps on satellite view. There are parks in Tours, I have no idea how %26quot;runner friendly%26quot; they are

Maybe along the banks of the Loire or the Cher rivers in Tours.

The public park in the Paul Bert area of central tours offers lovely views of the river Loire, the well heeled houses with river and park views (and the A10! :)...) The winding well kept %26amp; flat gritted paths offer a great walk or run.

If you keep running west with the river on your right you will reach the Pont Fil which is a great (bouncy!) pedestrian suspension bridge (watch out for skaters, scooters, bikes and boarders though)the first third is over another extensive open space with paths, but if you continue over the bridge over the Loire (look out for huge spawning fish in the river shallows...unless you are running too fast!) you will face the historic part of Tours - you can turn left or right here and run along the Loire itself.

If you turn right (heading east) you can run on wide path, alternating paved and grit all the way to the Jardin Botanique...another lovely place to run with lots to see - 18 acres if I remember correctly.

I am not a runner but this route is one of my families favourite routes on foot on our way into Tours. Having left the car for FREE!! either in the Paul Bert area (signposted off the A10) or in the car park right by the Pont Fil.

Have a great time, I would imagine the weather will be perfect for your plans.
