What is the best way to beat the queues to go up the tower

Dine at Le Jules Verne:

Basically, there is no way of beating the queues. If there were, everyone would use it.

Easy, go an hour before opening at 9:30 so be there at 8:30 with a coffee and a pain du chocolat and a newspaper. You will go up on the first lift and have the run of the top for a half hour or so. A half hour is plenty then descend to the second level and send some post cards to your friends with an ET postmark. There is a snack bar as well for a fresh coffee or a snack. You will have experienced the ET, top to bottom, in about 90 minutes and be on your way to other adventures. Don%26#39;t waste hours in lines.

Another option is to climb to the 2nd observation deck. After pestering me for years, my wife got me to go to the top. To high to see anything, to long to get up there and even longer to get down. The 2nd deck is perfect. But, it%26#39;s a must, every trip, every time. It%26#39;s Paris.

EVERYONE, it seems, gets there ahead of opening time, so you wait until opening time, still wait in line to purchase tickets and for elevators.
Best bet is dinner time, about an hour before sunset depending on the time of year, which is also the best time. You%26#39;re up there in the daylight and can stay through twilight, when the light is the most beautiful, then as it turns dark and the lights are turned on all over. You%26#39;re also in between tour busses.

Email your hotel and ask if they sell advance tickets. We stayed at the Le Meridien and they sold tickets for the Eiffel and the Louvre.
