Taxi from CDG Airport to the Eiffel Tower

How much does it cost for a Taxi from CDG to the Eiffel Tower. I have a 10 hour layover and wanted to see some sights. Is there a metro rail that is just as efficient%26gt; Would appreciate some help. Thanks

There is a rail into Paris from CDG.

I will offer that it would be less %26#39;learning curve%26#39; to take the Air France coach to the Arc de Triomphe. You can take this bus from any of the CDG terminals, follow the signs or look at their website for the Gate pickup points. The AF bus costs a little more than the RER rail but you don%26#39;t have to worry about getting to the RER station and waiting in line to buy the tickets. The RER costs 8.40euro one way and the AF bus costs about 14euro one way. You want the AF line 2 to %26#39;Etoile%26#39;.

Once you are in Paris, you can use the metro or buses to get around. There is an underground station just off the Arc circle where you can buy tickets (11.40euro for a pack/carnet of 10 tickets) or a one-day ticket for 5.80euro - called %26#39;Mobilis%26#39;).

Here is the transport site - you should become familiar with the Itinerary function and the maps, at the least. Also, here is the Air France site.

You can figure on a taxi cost between CDG and the Eiffel Tower running in the range of 45€-50€ each way. The %26#39;advantage%26#39; to a taxi is that it%26#39;s almost (but not quite) %26#39;..idiot-proof..%26#39;.

On the otherhand, you can use the fast, efficient RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne train connection from either of the two(2) RER stations located withiin CDG to the SAINT MICHEL-NOTRE DAME RER station, then make the quick ligne/train change over to the RER %26#39;C%26#39; ligne train to CHAMP de MARS-TOUR EIFFEL for 8,40€ each way.

Whichever mode of transfer you decide to use between CDG and Paris...make certain that you make plans to return to and be physically back AT your CDG departure terminal building AT LEAST THREE(3) HOURS PRIOR to your outbound flight%26#39;s ssheduled departure time.

There are also not-so-petty-details that might complicate this. Will your luggage be directly checked through from your inbound flight to your outbound flight?? There is NO Left Luggage storage facilties at CDG that will serve for you. Will you already have a boarding pass for your outbound flight from CDG??

Don%26#39;t forget that the Eiffel Tower is some distance from most of the other Paris sights. You might want to have a look at a guide book on Paris, or at least a map, and work out which sights are important to you.
