help with car rental

Hi

I am looking to see if anyone out there has similar experience.

I have reserved a car with Alamo in Bordeaux, and would now like to change the time of pickup from 9am to 8am, the time it opens. (stupid of me not to pick the earliest time upfront)

My problem is, the website that claims that i can modify my reservation, is not allowing me to do so and the reservation staff said via email that I need to call a pay by the minute number to modify my reservation.

My question is does anyone know if I can just show up at 8am in the morning or half an hour earlier at the shop instead of going through all the fuss to officially change the time?

We have shown up early in the past and been able to get car... have found usually pays to be early as paperwork, at least for us as Canadians, seems to take an inordinate amount of time compared to rental in US or Canada. Also I have sometimes called the day ahead to make sure the car I had reserved was actually available and you could possibly change time that way.

Your car will likely be ready by 8am in my opinion because people typically return the cars in the evening, not in the morning so you car should have been serviced. Nevertheless, it is best to call the outlet ahead and make the necessary arrangements if possible.

I know it%26#39;s been almost a year but I wanted to know how your car rental experience with Alamo went in Bordeaux? I will be renting with Alamo in Bordeaux in May 2009. My pick-up location is the Bordeaux Ville location, which is just next door to the train station. Which location did you pick-up from and how was the service?
