sdlovetotravel, are you referring to the Holiday Inn in Bougival, west of Paris?
|||
yeah I think so, I am suppose to meet my parents who are travelling with a tour group in their hotel, and they are staying in this place. Is this place very far out from CDG or Paris city centre?
|||
It is actually 45 minutes out of Paris by train and the hotel is over 3 KM from the train station. The RER-A costs 3€50/person each way.
|||
hi Thanks for your reply.
i think my flight is only arriving at night around 9pm, do you think it is ok to travel by train to the place and then get a taxi from train station to the hotel?
|||
sdlovetotravel, that RER station is very much outside of Paris and admittedly outside my direct experience. Getting a taxi in outlying suburbs of Paris is difficult under the best of conditions but probably it%26#39;s almost impossible at that hour (22h-23h).
I think you need to hire a taxi at the airport and accept the 70€-90€ cost. Public transport involves too many variables at that hour.
I think your only option is a taxi.
|||
Either that or your change your flight to an early one or book a hotel in Paris and have your parents stay there too? You didn%26#39;t say when the trip will take place or if this is the last town in the tour for your parents as they could then leave the tour and stay in a more convenient hotel in Paris. Can they cancel the whole trip and find a better one? A friend of mine once did a %26quot;8 countries in 12 days trip%26quot; and ended up in EVERY SINGLE CAPITAL, including Paris, way out in the boonies even thought the tour wasn%26#39;t cheap at all. The tour promised %26quot;one afternoon free at leisure in every town%26quot; but it was spoiled by trying to go to downtown and back.

Thank you for all your replies
I think €70-90 is too expensive. I think I will change my flight to earlier and have them meet us in the city, will book to stay in the city maybe. thanks again.
yes this is their last stop but i thought it will be better to meet them in hotel,i think i wont then. thanks again

hi all, 1 more question, now that I am meeting my family in Paris city, I thought I would meet them at Paris Gare de Nord train station and we catch a Thaly train to Amsterdam, I see there is a train at 10.35am, do you know if they can make it, from Bouvigal train station where can I find timetable for the earliest train to Paris Gare de Nord, the fare is Euro3.50 per person? if not perhaps Taxi is an option, would it still be euro70-90 to Paris city centre?
|||
You keep typing Bouvigal but we%26#39;re assuming Bougival in western Paris suburbs. They should take a taxi into Paris city - Gare du Nord. I know where the Holiday Inn is in Bougival and it is not at all convenient to RER station. Have the hotel reserve a taxi for them as they are in the suburbs and there are no taxis just driving by.
Probably 60 - 70 euros for the taxi into city

Getting from CDG out to the general area of BOUVIGAl via public transportation won%26#39;t be all that difficult. Take the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne train from either of its two(2) stations located within CDG to CHATELET-LES HALLES RER (approx 35-40 mins) At CHATELET-LES HALLES make the quick ligne/train change over to the RER %26#39;A%26#39; ligne. Take **ONLY** %26#39;A%26#39; trains with a four-letter %26#39;..Z xxx..%26#39; designation...heading in the direction of Saint Germain-en-Laye to RUEIL-MALMAISON RER station (approx. 20 mins). The fare from CDG to RUEIL-MALMAISON RER.
The RER train fare from AÉROPORT CDG RER to RUEIL-MALMASON should run approx 11€. The total travel time from CDG to RUEIL-MALMAISON should take perhaps 70-80 minutes....and the route is fairly simple and straightforward.
***BUT*** as noted above, the potential **problem** arises once you arrive at RUEIL-MALMAISON station, later in the evening, and try to find an available Taxi at the train station to take you the few kilometers from train station to the HOLIDAY INN at BOUGIVAL (approx. 5 km. south). There should be taxis available at the train station, even at your hour of arrival....but %26#39;..should..%26#39; doesn%26#39;t make it so.
In the event IF there are NO Taxis available at the train station at that hour, there is at least one, 24/7 radio-dispatched taxi company in Rueil-Malmaison--Carry the taxi company name %26amp; telephone number with you...
RADIO TAXI RUEIL--
Tel# 01.47.32.00.92
as well as the Location/Access page from the hotel%26#39;s web site to show to the taxi driver to minimize the potential of mis-communication/mis-understanding of where you want to go..or how to get there.
--OR--in a pinch, you could telephone the Holiday Inn at Bougival to see if they can telephone for a taxi pick-up for you at Rueil-Malmaison RER.
The ONLY %26#39;trick%26#39; or complication to this transfer is the Taxi fromRUEIL-MALMAISON RER to the hotel.
