We will be arriving in Nice on Saturday, March 14. We have been planning this trip for such a long time and I am so excited that it is almost here. I have read here on TA that there is a transportation strike scheduled for March 19. I am wondering if this strike will affect Nice and the smaller, closeby towns. We will not have a car and are planning to use public transportation for various day trips. If there will not be public transportation available on the 19th, we will need to adjust our plans.

yes it will affect Nice and environs -there is a march planned for 10am
Its planned as a one day strike
I%26#39;d plan to be in Nice that day but Nice is very easy to walk around

Thank you, Selkie. We will plan accordingly.

Update on the strike tomorrow:
No trams or ligne d%26#39;azur buses in Nice at all including airport buses
Almost all ligne d%26#39;azur services in outskirts are off apart from a couple of school runs and a couple of routes are undecided
some TAM buses are running normally but expect them to be busy and potentially irregular
