My 18 year old son has a 22 hour layover in Paris. He was supposed to meet up with friends, but they changed their plans. Any advise on where he could stay? He wants to see the Louvre, a little bit of Paris, and get a good breakfast. He is flying in and out of CDG. He is very self-sufficient. We just need to know the best way to get from the airport to a hotel, and if there are hotels near the Louvre that are not too expensive. He doesn%26#39;t need luxury, just a safe area for a teenager alone.
thanks for any help.

Hi
I%26#39;m making the assumption that his departure flight is in the morning. If so, then my advice would be the get a room at one of the airport hotel. I know it lack parisian charm but with 22 hours in hand, the best thing to do is to drop those bags asap and roam about freely. On top of it, it will make departure that much easier.
There%26#39;s train that connects the airport to the city to get in and out. That will get him to the Louvre or to whatever else he wishes to see.
thanks

Thanks,
well he gets in from florence at 3:00, and leaves at 1:00 the next day. He kind of wants the ability to wander around Paris that afternoon and night, so I thought he might be better off with a hotel in the city. That way even if he stayed out late, he would be close to his hotel. I had also heard that there might be a train strike - in which case I assume he would have to take a taxi. Yet another expense.
It has been over 25 years since I visited Paris. So I am trying to remember the best places for him to stay with only one night there.
Also, do you know how he would need to arrive before his flight?
Thank you

I just changed DH %26amp; my ff reservations to give us from noon til 11 the following day in Paris (vs. the original 10pm arrival into CDG).
We are staying overnite in the Latin Quarter at a hotel within walking distance of the RER St. Michel/Notre Dame station. If we check out by 7:30 we should have ample time to make our flight home.
For your son, I think it makes sense for him to stay in the city, especially since his flight leaves in the early afternoon. If he is at an airport hotel, he will miss the delights of Paris in the morning.
