We are planning a trip to France this summer with a visit to the battlefields. We are trying to figure out if there is a good place to make as a %26quot;home base%26quot; - Amiens, Arras or Ypres?
We were thinking of spending one night in Ypres (staying for the nightly ceremony) and at least one night in Amiens or Arras (for a visit to Vimy and Somme)
Is Ypres a good place to stay?
Between Arras and Amiens - any preferences?
Cheers,
Jenn

Hi....Yes Ypres is a fantasic place to stay. I would reccomed staying in Arras or Amiens for the Somme/vimy etc and Ypres for the Sailent battlefilds.
I%26#39;ve never stayed in Arras but it%26#39;s a nice town and close to vimy ridge. Amiens is not bad either but the accamadation is not that great. If it was me i%26#39;d stay in Arras

Thanks so much for the advice. We decided to stay in Ypres and Arras. As an added bonus, we found out that there is a festival in Arras that weekend that is supposed to be a lot of fun!
Cheers!
