Did anyone take TGV train from Paris CDG airport? Is it far from the international arrival terminal? I am considering booking a train ticket 2 and half hours after my arrival. Do you think it is sufficient time for everything?

I think you have plenty of time. It%26#39;s very easy, you just step out of baggage claim/customs and follow the signs %26quot;TGV%26quot;...and you are there in no time. Very simple.

awesome, Thanks!
we will spend a few days in Avignon. Then we want to take TGV back to Paris. Are there many stations in Paris, or is it ok just to choose %26quot;Paris%26quot; as a return destination?

From what I could tell booking the TGV from Avignon to Paris, the trains go to the Gare de Lyon. I just requested Paris as a destination.

Yes s from Avignon to Paris terminate at Gare de Lyon. The one that you will catch from CDG will have come from Lille or Brussels.

I agree with the above. I%26#39;ve done the TGV from CDG many times - no problem and 2.5 hours should be plenty of time even if your plane gets in late or passport control is slow (just means your luggage should be out by the time you get there). Pick up your bags, exit past customs (don%26#39;t stop unless you think you have something you need to clear with them, which is very unlikely), turn right, and just keep walking (I%26#39;m assuming you are coming into one of the Terminal 2 areas, since coming from NY), BUT if coming into a different terminal you will need to check the CDG map to find your way. If you arrive in Terminal 2, just keep walking past the various airline desks (there will be signs for the TGV, with a pictogram of a train), and eventually you will pass the Sheraton and it%26#39;s down an escalator right there.
On your return from Avignon, the trains will all go to one station, so pick %26quot;Paris%26quot; and you will end up where you should be.
Good luck and have fun!

2 1/2 hours should be more than sufficient to get from your CDG air arrival terminal building (there are 9 air arrival terminals--CDG #1; CDG #2-A,B,C,D,E,F %26amp; G; CDG #3--at which will your inbound flight arrive??)

We just took the TGV from Gare du Lyon to Avignon and then back to CDG because we were leaving. So it does leave from CDG to get to Avignon. It is very easy to do. I suggest you purchase your tickets from the French site in French at voyages.sncf. You will save a lot of money and there are many more choices. For help with this, use www.seat61.com. This web site has all the info you need to learn how to purchase in French if you are from the US (or any other country). We saved almost 50% using the french site instead of purchasing the the US site. Also, you can print off your tickets at home. It gives you the day (written as day/month/year, time of train departure and arrival, car number and seat number on the train you will be taking - a reserved seat). You don%26#39;t need to validate your ticket if you have printed it off at home. Very easy.

thanks for advise.
I found that the french site doesn%26#39;t give you an option to purchase round-trip where return destination was different. Like I can only to CDG to Avingon and back to CDG. It dosn%26#39;t let me choose Paris as return destination. Plantogosoon, did you book one way tickets there and the one way back?

I have exactly the same problem...round trip must be exactly that---beginning and returning to the same place. I just worked through for a one way ticket from Roissy-CDG to Avignon and then another from Avignon to Paris which ends at Gare de Lyon. The price varies according to the time of day you wish to travel, but booking on the French site (voyages-sncf.com) saves beaucoup Euros, as a previous poster mentioned. KDKSail mentioned that the TVG station at the airport is in terminal 2 so be sure to check which terminal your flight comes in to and allow inter-terminal travel time if necessary.
