Me and my friend are planning on taking a vacation this fall. We are flying into Paris, France, staying there a couple of days and then traveling down to Nice, France for a couple of days before heading over to Italy. Does anyone have any recommendations on traveling by train from Paris to Nice to Florence to Italy? Are there any places that we HAVE to go and any places we should definitely avoid??? By the way, this is just a friend, not a romantic trip, so please keep that in mind when making suggestions. Also, we%26#39;re both female, so if there are any places that we should avoid for safety reasons, let me know that as well.
Thank you for all of your suggestions!

You can fly one way from Paris to Nice for as little as $67. Traip Advisor has added a new flight feature that searches various booking sites and the airlines for your best price.
If you prefer the train, go the Voyages-SNCF, and do not ask for a translation. If Americans identify themselves as from the US, we are sent to the pricey RailEurope site. This is a for proft booking agency, and tickets here will be much more expensive.
You want to either stay in French on SNCF, or click the British flag. From here, you will be sent to the TGV site in English. You can view the best schedules and fares on either site. If you want to pre-purchase your ticket, let me know or search the French forums for more info. It gets tricky!

There aren%26#39;t any safety concerns in Nice apart from the usual precautions people should take anywhere - be aware of belongings and surroundings, don%26#39;t get visibly drunk, don%26#39;t flash money around.
What are you interested in seeing? Nice [and surroundings] have loads of thinsg ot do and see but its hard to know what to suggest without more info
eg art, history, museums, mediaeval towns and villages, mountains, islands, jet set haunts, markets, hiking, boat trips, train trips etc etc
