Our Cruise ship docks at Cannes, and we plan to go by train to Monte Carlo. I have been told the journey is quick and cheap. However, it has just been pointed out to us that on Friday the journey could be a nightmare due to the huge market just over the border in Italy. Has anyone experienced this, should we reconsider, and book the cruise excursion? Help.

when are you going to be in the area?

We will be there 19 June

It shouldn%26#39;t be too bad in June -plus you will be getting on the train at Cannes so are almost 100% likely to get a seat, even if it is particularly busy.
You could explore cannes a bit, go to the market or le suquet etc before getting the train you will miss the rush as people normally head to the market fairly early.
Probably leaving Cannes about 10 or 10.30 would be good if you are concerned about the business of the trains. The train takes an hour to Monaco.
getting back isn%26#39;t normally too bad as long as you don%26#39;t head back at the time office workers and school kids are heading home
In June you also have the option of going by boat -though maybe that%26#39;s not so appealing if you are already on a cruise.
