2 day trip in paris. please advise ( first time)

Me and my gf will arrive in Paris on Friday at around 10 am.

We will go to hotel check in first.

I think after check in, (or maybe just drop down our luggages), it will be around 2?

Then what should our plan be? We will be leaving on Sunday 7 pm

Here are some places that we want to go. How should I plan the trip? If there are other places that worth to visit, please advise!

thanks!

Arc de triomphe de l%26#39;Étoile

Louvre

Avenue des Champs-Élysées

EiffelTower

Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris

Cruise on the river

Also, I want to have some romantic meal with her.

Which restaurant should I choose? Is La Tour d%26#39; Argent a good one?

Thanks,

I suggest that you go to the Arc d%26#39;Triomphe and walk down the Champs Elysees the afternoon that you get in. You could then walk to the Trocadero that evening, from the Arc d%26#39;Triomphe, when it is dark to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up. We walked along Avenue Kleber. It is very romantic - we were just there. I can%26#39;t recommend restaurants because we just wander and find one where the price looks good. There are a lot of restaurants . There are a lot near the Trocadero, on Ave Kleber and the other Avenues in the area.

The next morning, get up early to go to the Louvre. It gets very crowded so the earlier that you are there, the easier it is to get in. You could spend a little time in the Jardin Tuileries and then walk over to Notre Dame. It will be crowded there too to climb the tower but it isn%26#39;%26#39;t necessary to do so. You can go in the Church. I highly recommend the Saint Chappelle which is very close. It is a beautiful church with lovely stained windows. AFterwards, walk along the Seine and sit at an outdoor cafe and watch the people go by. You could do the boat trip that evening. We did it a few years ago but in the daytime. I hear the evening one is quite beautiful.

On Sunday morning, you could go to the Eiffel Tower, again very early. Check the opening times AND check the lenght of the lines. We approached the Tower from the Ecple Militare direction and there was no line for two stations. The other side had long lines for both stations. Tourist buses stop there to drop off people and they all get in line there. Go to the very top, I think I paid 12e for the trip. If it is a sunny day the view is wonderful. After that you could go to another museum if you like or just wander the streets. We also like Musee d%26#39;Orsay which has Renoir, Van Gogh, Delacroix, etc. Very nice. The Latin Quarter and St. Germain des Pres are very lively. You might enjoy walking there.

Because of the short time you are there, I recommend buying a carnet of 10 tickets to use on the Metro. You can buy more if you need it. It is 11.40e and one ticket can get you to alot of stops as long as you don%26#39;t surface. Once you leave the metro system, you have to use another ticket to go somewhere else.

I have heard good things about La Tour but I understand it is very expensive. If you do a restaurant search on this forum, you will see a lot of recommendations for restaurants.

Whatever you do, enjoy, you and your girlfriend will love it.

thanks for your thoughtful suggestion! I will make good use of it!

I like the suggestions above. Only thing I can add is spend early part of first evening walking on Avenue des Champs-Elysess, then climb up Arc de triomphe little late (when its getting dark). Watching sunset and Eiffel lighting up is one sight to remember. Then as suggested walk to Eiffel.

Try to familiarize with roads in Paris, its not that confusing. You gonna love it. Have fun.

I%26#39;d start by walking from Trocadero to the ET, from there you can take the 1hr boat cruise, you%26#39;ll see more at daytime (www.bateauxparisiens.com) and it%26#39;s a good way to start.

Would leave the Arc for the evening, it%26#39;s open till about 10:30pm and the view is stunning at night + the shops on Champs Elysées are open late.

Next morning can start with the Louvre (decide in advance what you want to see most).

St-Chapelle, Notre-Dame, maybe a walk on Ile St-Louis and in Marais.

La Tour d%26#39;Argent is a nice restaurant.

Think what else you want to do. There are many options.

do I need to reserve for the cruise?

Or just buy tickets from there?

|||

For a Sightseeing cruise I%26#39;d get the tickets on site, for lunch or dinner cruise do reserve in advance.

|||

I meant that for the 1 hr cruise there%26#39;s no need to get the tics in advance.
