Besides purchasing a tour or special pass, does anyone know of a way to avoid the long lines for the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory and Venus de Milo? If we got there first thing in the morning, could we run right to those exhibits and miss the long lines?
I also read earlier about an entrance that has the shortest lines for tickets, but I can%26#39;t find the post anymore. Any advice?
How early should we get there before the museum opens?
TIA for your help!

Just type %26quot;secret Louvre entrances%26quot; into the search box near the top of the page and you%26#39;ll find all 3 %26#39;secret%26#39; entrances.
Hard to know how lines will be ... depends on the time of year. Right now they won%26#39;t be bad. On a rainy day in July or August they%26#39;ll be huge.
A rule I find to work pretty well anywhere in France is to arrive right at opening. The real tourist hordes start arriving en mass between 10 and 11 as a rule. So aim for opening time or a bit before. Have a map so you know where to go once you%26#39;re in.
Bonne chance!

The winged victory is at the top of a broad staircase, no lines at all as people are using the staircase.
The Venus de Milo may have changed location recently, but it was located in a broad flat expanse of hall that you could walk around easily. Lots of people but no queues.
Mona Lisa in on a wall behind glass. Huge crowd around with everyone holding up cameras to take her picture, but again, no queues as such, just a crowd in front of her.
