travelling from carcassonne to nice

We are travelling to France for 2 weeks at the start of June. We are travelling from Carcassonne to Nice during this time. We will have a car and have booked 2 nights accommodation in Carcassonne. We have an apartment booked in Nice for 1 full week so need to fill in the other 5 nights to get from Carcassonne to Nice.

We would love to see the Millau Viaduct but think this may be a bit out of our way. Any ideas on a possible route to take for the 5 nights. We like nice scenery so any help appreciated.

Hi there,

So many places.. Here are a few to get started.

Millau isnt very far from Carcassonne, perhaps take it in on the start of your road trip. Turn off the A9 at Agde. Prob 2 hrs from Carcassonne. Others on your way are Montpellier, back on the A9. I love this city. Try Uzes and Le Pont du Gard, north of Nimes. L%26#39;Espiguette and Aigues Mortes and for a day at the beach and stay in a medieval town. Dont forget Arles. Backup to Avignon, and L%26#39;isle sur La Sorgue and Aix. You can drive the coast of Cote d Azur then from Toulon to Nice, its beautiful. There are so many places. If you specify some interests, there are lots of people on these forums with great info. B

Thanks for your advice. Will have a look at these places to see where best to stay as we do%26#39;t really want to be moving every night. Will see if we can do maybe 3 %26amp; 3 nights or 2,2 %26amp; 1 based around these places.

Thanks.

From the Autoroute A9 to Millau via the A75 is only an hour and 20 minutes or so... since you have lots of time to get over to Nice see the viaduct then take a drive in the Gorges du Tarn. Then take the D907 bis and the N106 down to Nimes through the Parc de Cevennes...
