Eurostar?

Hi. I am looking to travel from Paris to London on June 24 one way. it is currently $98 US for this trip. is that a good deal?

That sounds about normal for a one way normal ticket - more or less equivalent to the price you would pay in London

|||

thanks. weird how the prices are different if you choose a different country when going to the eurostar site. i chose Belgium and got it for 66 Euros which about $85 US.

I paid 75 USD per person round trip from Paris to London. The dates are April 8. I couldn%26#39;t believe how cheap.

I paid $54 one-way in December. I purchased more than 90 days out. I think that%26#39;s the key; buy your tickets as far in advance as possible.

And, unless you have an unlimited budget, don%26#39;t waste your money on first class seats. The economy class (2nd) seats are perfectly comfortable. If only airplane seats were this comfortable.

I just bought round-trip Paris to London for three on the very first day available for a trip in July and paid 178 Pounds. That worked out to $83.62 each for three of us.

I was amazed it was that inexpensive for July.

Jeandhlh, I think that cheap £59 round-trip fare is pretty much standard year-round; it%26#39;s just that at busy times, it sells out much faster. By buying 4 months in advance, you were able to get the lowest fare. Of course, the current strength of the dollar helps us U.S. travelers a lot too. Last year, when I got the £59 fare, it came to $115. Am looking forward to much better deals on my travels this year!

Bearing in mind that 24/06 is pretty much High Season, then 98USD sounds good to me. If you want it cheaper, go out of season, be flexible with times etc etc.

Eurostar resumed normal service on Feb 23 following 6 months of slightly reduced / slower services after last September%26#39;s fire on a truck being conveyed thru the tunnel. Timings have thus been reduced by about 20 minutes i.e. it now takes approx 2-1/4hrs for the London / Paris trip. I travelled back from Paris last Sunday evening and punctuality was spot on.

With the full service restored and security checks at airports still requiring some time it%26#39;s hardly surprising to hear that the seats sell quickly - book as near as possible to ticket release date (4 months out) for best prices.

You might be able to get a better deal through the Times (British Newspaper)

You need to go in with four passwords and can get 2 return trips on Eurostar from 99GBP. Deal goes up to 31st August, but only booking 120 days in advance. Not sure if you can get one way trips for sure but it might only cost you 25 GBP.

By the way, passwords are Chocolate, Adventure, Experience, Cuisine
