Thanks for all your great advise on where to stay, but I got a great deal with Hotel des Grands Hommes beside the Pantheon and it looks gorgeous.
Only problem now is I%26#39;m looking at what to do and since I%26#39;m there from the Saturday afternoon before Easter to Easter Tuesday Night, I%26#39;m worried things will be closed. Should have thought about that before!
I would love to go to Versaille but I know its closed the Monday. What about Easter Sunday? If it is, looks like I will be going to the Louvre that day.
If it is open though, how regular will the metro and the RER be on Easter Sunday?
What about the other main attractions though like the Musee D%26#39;Orsay, Notre Dame and even just the shops as typical female here loves to shop? Are they likely to be open Easter Sunday and Monday? Where are the best shopping areas, as much as I love Chanel and Dior though, they are a little out of my budget!
I look forward to all your replies!

Shops are generally closed Sundays, easter, or not. But they will be back open on Monday.
The museums will be open Sunday. And Monday for the ones that are supposed to be open Monday.

Things are open at Easter.
Is that what you wanted to hear? :¬) Just like at Christmas, Paris doesn%26#39;t close down - unlike the UK. You may have to plan better as to when you do things, but if you check at the Paris Tourist Bureau site you will find a list of when the various museums are open.

Well...NOtre Dame is a church, so of course it will be open, you will have masses there so you may want to check the times.
Easter Monday shops are likely to be closed, maybe not all of them. EasterSunday i think all the museums should be open
Metro and RER on Sunday will have the sunday schedule, so one every 8-10 minutes at the most.

No problem regarding tourist stuff and museum; Le Louvre will be open both Sunday and Monday; Orsay is closed on Mondays (but not because it is Easter Monday), so is Versailles, both are open on Sundays.
But as shops will be closed on Sunday and on Monday, It is better to plan your shopping day on Saturday afternoon and Tuesday.

Thanks for your replies! Yip, this will take some itinerary planning to make sure I get to do everything I want.
Can%26#39;t believe shops will be closed Sunday and Monday though. Even larger department stores and malls?

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Please tell me things are open at Easter!%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
Okay, sure...Things are open at Easter....BUT...the %26#39;things%26#39; that remain open on a Sunday may not be all of the things that are usually open Monday-thru-Saturday.
Churches are open on Easter Sunday...but often have inconvenient worship services going on that interfere with and %26#39;clutters%26#39; photographic sightlines and camera angles (go figga%26#39;?) Most museumes and monuments will be open...and busy. Most stores and shops will be closed (local shoppers exceed local worshipers and contribute to crowds...so no surprise there). Most restaurants and cafés will remain open...though on a Sunday (especially an Easter Sunday) better restaurants will be more crowded with local family luncheons. If you%26#39;ve any particular better restaurant in mind for a Sunday luncheon, it would probably be a good idea to telephone ahead for a reservation.
Even though most stores, shops and businesses are regularly closed on Sundays, Sunday is usually a great day to just meander about Parisian neighborhoods on-foot. There%26#39;s a lot less vehicular traffic and strolling about quiet streets can be delightful.

%26quot;Even larger department stores and malls?%26quot;
Especially larger stores with a lot of employees, as working on Sundays is forbidden by law in France, with a few exceptions, such as in a few tourist areas (that are also determined by law), there was a tough debate on this a few months ago, but the law proposed by th egovernment has not been voted by the assembly:

Department strores will be closed for sure, a few smaller shops will be open, but maily tourists shops as I said.

Chain stores and department stores will be open Easter Monday.

I am sorry to contradict Phread, but Galeries Lafayettes and Le Printemps will both be closed on Easter Monday as it is a bank holiday. I checked this actually before for friends also visiting Paris. But Galeries Lafayette will have a special opening on Sunday 29th of March because of %26quot;3J%26quot; promotions days.

Darn and blast it! It never even occured to me that the law would dictate Sunday closing now with everywhere, even Ireland where I am being open!
Ok...last resort for Sunday / Monday plans. You mentioned tourist shops. What about tours? Like the open top bus, seine cruises etc...?
I can see us walking about Sunday like 2 wee lonely hobo tourists :-)
Thanks for the help guys
