i%26#39;m trying to find information about transfer to Tignes. I intend travelling on Sat 29 March, arriving at 18:20 on Eurostar. I have tried emailing the bus companies but have not received answers.
Does anyone know if Bus connections are available to co incide with the Eurostar arrival?
I also need to travel back from Tignes to Bourg on Sat 5 April to hopefully catch a train at 08:07.

Hi,
Try calling the Maison de Tignes information (details from tignes.net) and ask them - they have a bus booking service from a desk on the ground floor of the Maison in Lac as well.
I%26#39;m pretty certain there%26#39;s a bus up the hill after the Eurostar arrives. I%26#39;ve not heard of anyone ranting about it and I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;d have heard by now if there wasn%26#39;t one.
Actually - looking at autocars-martin website for the week before (22nd) the 18:45 bus is showing up. I guess it%26#39;s possible that bus is full on the 29th as it%26#39;s Easter holidays, but it strikes me as odd. Maybe it%26#39;s just a mistake on the website.
Otherwise yeah - taxi it is I%26#39;m afraid.
Cheers,
Matt

Hi Silverskier,
Did you find a solution in the end? I am looking to do the same transfer from Tignes to Bourg St Maurice on the 14th March hitting presumably the same train as you are at 08:07 to Paris but the www.autocars-martin.com bus transfer gets to BSM station at 08:00. I am a little wary of this as it is such a tight connection. What have you gone for?
Cheers

I%26#39;m afraid I can%26#39;t be of much help. I had to changes plans and eventually used Neilsons as a complete package, landig at Lyon and the transferring by coach to Tignes. It was a wonderful week though.

LetsGoBowling - I think that%26#39;s the bus that leaves Tignes about 6.45? 75 mins to do that journey is leaving a fair bit of room (I usually do it in 45 minutes and I take it very easy on the corners!) so you should be safe. Also, the bus station backs on to the rail station, so if you%26#39;ve already got your ticket, it%26#39;ll only take you a couple of minutes to get on the train.
If it were me, I%26#39;d take the bus you%26#39;re planning to. One thing to note though - confirm your seat on that bus, and the place in Tignes you%26#39;re picking it up from, a couple of days before hand. I%26#39;ve had a friend stranded before because they thought nobody wanted the early bus.
Cheers,
Matt

We require travel advice from arrival by Eurostar at Bourg St Maurice to Tignes dates not yet decided will be sometime in July/August 2009.

Hi,
To my knowledge, Eurostar doesn%26#39;t run direct services to Bourg St Maurice outside of the (peak) winter months.
You can however get Eurostar to Paris then cross Paris to Gare d%26#39;Austerlitz or Gare de Lyon and get direct Lunea sleepers, or day trains (TGV to Chambery then switch to local service).
www.seat61.com has some excellent advice on these routes and how best to book them. I%26#39;ve done day and overnight trains on these routes and really quite enjoyed them.
Bus from BSM to Tignes is straight forward - check the http://www.autocars-martin.com/ for exact times but I seem to remember there are 3 or 4 busses a day in summer - certainly on Saturdays at least. Shouldn%26#39; be a need to book - the bus ticket office is in the train station in BSM. It%26#39;s pretty cheap - maybe €11 each way, possibly even cheaper.
Cheers,
Matt
