I will be arriving in Le Havre by train on Easter morning and really need/want to find a Roman Catholic church so I can attend Mass on Easter Sunday. Does anyone know a nearby Church. My sister and I will then board our Viking River Cruise ship that afternoon. Any help would be appreciated.

95 - if not 98 - percent of churches in France are Roman Catholic. I imagine that any church you see in Le Havre will, therefore, be Roman Catholic.

Hi Mary!
I%26#39;m surprised that you wouldn%26#39;t simply look on the internet for a question like Easter Mass.
So, I%26#39;ve done it for you!
Here%26#39;s the Wikipedia internet link for Le Havre Cathedral.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Havre_Cathedral
It%26#39;s too bad you won%26#39;t be in Chartres or Paris on Easter morn, but I%26#39;m sure the bishop of Le Havre will celebrate an inspiring and evocative Mass in his cathedral, which dates back before any building in North America.
Naturally, the Mass will be in French. I%26#39;m Catholic too, and you%26#39;ll quickly recognize every part of the Mass. Only the language will be different.
Wikipedia offers a web site for the diocese. Since Mass times at Easter may not be the same as other Sundays, why not e-mail the diocese. Copy the question you posed here.
catholique-lehavre.cef.fr/2_les_services_dio…
If you want to translate your message to French (many Americans usually don%26#39;t understand French) use Alta Vista or another translation program. But I bet someone in the diocesan office knows enough English to reply.
Happy travels and let me know if I can help further!

David, you are so nice to have responded so quickly! I did check Wikipedia but never thought to e-mail the diocese and get all the Mass times and perhaps ask which is the closest church to the train station where we will be arriving about mid day in Le Havre.
Since you are the answer man, David, do you know a website that I could go to to get train info. from Gare St Lazare in Paris to Le Havre??
