Hello! We are a couple in our early 20s, visiting Paris from June 9 - June 13. Please give us some feedback :) Thanks you!
Day 1 (Tuesday)
- Arrive CDG around 11:30 am, purchase museum pass
- Take RER then metro to hotel – can we use one carnet for RER and metro?
- Since we are staying in the 17e close to 18e, plan on visiting Montmarte (Sacré-Coeur and others, and watch the night fall over Paris)
Day 2 (Wednesday)
- Louvre (first thing in the morning, plan on seeing the Mona Lisa before the crowd starts)
- Notre Dame: towers and crypt
- Musée D’Orsay or Musée l’Orangerie (or both since I’m most interested in seeing the Monet panels at l’Orangerie)
- Louvre is open late on Wednesdays, so if we have time, might go back after dinner
Day 3 (Thursday)
- Versailles (till mid afternoon)
- Arc de Triomphe
- Fat tire bike tour at night
Day 4 (Friday)
- Champs Élysées
- Walk around Latin Quarter - Saint-Germain
- Eiffel Tower at night?
Day 5 – Departure to Avignon
We are not sure if we should do the Fat Tire bike tour after spending half a day at Versaille walking around!
Also still debating to see the Eiffel Tower at night or first thing in the morning. I want to see night fall over Paris from the Eiffel Tower, but feel that first thing in the morning would be nice too as it won’t be too crowded yet

I%26#39;ll reply in bits.
Day 1 - RER/metro, if you use the tunnels to connect, one ticket (billet). If you go thru the turnstile to exit, you need a new ticket. A carnet is a pack of 10 individual tickets, at a discounted price.
Day 2 - IMHO, the Mona Lisa is highly overrated. I%26#39;d start at the Orangerie when it opens and see the Monet panels before the rooms are packed with people, then walk thru the Tuilerie gardens to the Louvre. If you are really into Monet, then consider the Marmottan (I haven%26#39;t been yet, myself) museum, unfortunately not included in the Museum Pass. The Orsay %26amp; Louvre in one day is very agressive! Are you planning to see a lot at the Louvre or just the Mona Lisa? I find the Louvre overwhelming - best to decide ahead of time just which parts you want to see and map out a plan. At the Orsay, start on the top floor, where all the Impressionist paintings are, then work your way down, till you run out of time.

One comment and a suggestion: I like that you haven%26#39;t overloaded your arrival day. Most people don%26#39;t realize how tired they%26#39;ll be.
You might consider leaving the Orangerie on Wednesday, since you only want to see the water lilies. It won%26#39;t be museum overload, having been to the Louvre. You might tuck the d%26#39;Orsay in to Friday. You certainly have time. I%26#39;m guessing you%26#39;ll be underwhelmed with the Champs Elysées and won%26#39;t spend much time there, except possibly at the Arc de Triomphe, but even that doesn%26#39;t take long.
To save time, you might metro from the Etoile to the Cité metro stop and walk across the bridge in front of Notre Dame in to the Latin Quarter. That way, you get to see ND and also maximize your time getting to the LQ. Have fun!

Eiffel Tower - best first thing, before the lines get long. I hear it can be an hour%26#39;s wait or more. OTOH the Arc de Triomphe might be nice at sunset (that%26#39;s my personal plan). I would plan to stroll the Champs Elysees at the same time as visiting the Arc de Triomphe, where it starts.

Add the Sainte-Chappele (incl in the Pass) next to your visit to Notre Dame. It is an absolute gem, not to be missed.

One used to be able to rent bikes at Versailles, which would save your legs for sure, not to mention shortening the time you need for the visit. We got them (this was about 22 yrs ago) at the entrace and it made all the difference in the world. The Palace and the Petit Trianon are MILES apart (at least so it seemed the first time, on foot).

Wow - thanks so much for the suggestions! I have read in the Lonely Planet Paris that you can still rent bikes at Versailles, so definitely plan on doing that :) I should probably have mentioned that there is a method (I think...) to the madness that is museum overload on Wednesday - we decided to get the 2-day pass instead of the 4 day pass since we are not quite there for 4 days.
I know we won%26#39;t be able to see everything at the Louvre so we will decided ahead of time and focus on what we want to see instead of trying to do the whole thing.
this is so helpful, thank you!
