I%26#39;m stopping a few days in Burgundy (probably Beaune) on my way from Geneva to Paris. I thought about renting a car in Geneva, but the one-way, inter-country penalties are really high (an additional $400+ USD). Any suggestions? Is it easy to get to Burgundy from Geneva via train? If so, then maybe I should wait and rent a car when I arrive in Burgundy. Merci.

Although Geneva is only 200km it takes time by train. The shortest trip is 3h via Lausanne and can be as long as 5h30 via Lyon. There are many car rental agencies at Dijon train station (Europcar, Avis, Hertz) From there it is an easy 45km drive to Beaune. Unless you want to stay in Dijon and you won%26#39;t need any car at all!
Bon voyage :-)
