House numbers in Paris.

As this is friday the 13th is it true that there are no number 13%26#39;s in Paris, i heard this on a radio show this morning, what is behind this superstition ?

First I%26#39;ve heard of it. I stayed in a rental apartment with the house number 13.

That%26#39;s news to me too, though I have heard it in relation to the United States, where it%26#39;s said that many buildings don%26#39;t have a thirteenth floor (though of course they must have really. Do they really think dark forces can be fooled that easily?)

In any case, it doesn%26#39;t seem to bother people in the 13th arrondissement :o)

Just as an idle curiousity, I just did a quick search of a Mairie de Paris street map....and randomly came up with lots of #13%26#39;s, on lots of streets in Paris, that the government, utilities and others are evidently addressing their mail. It remains to be seen if anyone is there to receive it. They could simply be convenient %26#39;portals%26#39; to %26#39;other dimensions%26#39; or %26#39;netherworlds%26#39;.

I have been living since may last year at a number 13 rue...in the 9th in Paris, so i guess this is just a myth.
