Advice on apartments to rent in Nice

I have found two apartments which I like located in Nice France. One is located n 8 Rue Malonat in the old town 50 meters from Cours Selya (flower market). This apartment is 50 euros more for the week but has a flat screen tv and comfy couch and chairs. The other is located on 16 Rue Pastorelli which is 600 meters from the old town. This one has a nicer terrace but no flat screen and no sea view. Both have balconies and all amenities. From the pictures the apartment located on 16 Rue Pastorlli looks nicer but I think that the location is not as central.

I am looking for advice. I need someone who is familiar with Nice to let me know which location is better? Is Rue PAstorelli more central for other sights in Nice or am I better to go with Rue Malonat?

Please help.

The old town is by far the most interesting part of Nice but it can be noisy at night as there are clubs and bars that stay open late. Rue Pastorelli is off Jean Medecin, Nice%26#39;s %26#39;main street%26#39; and only a five minute walk from the old town and the sea. My only concern would be if you were at the Jean Medecin end of the street, the noise of the trams, which run from 4.35am to 1.35am could be irritating.

There is still building work on a big apartment block going on in Rue Pastorelli.

So a huge crane, lorries with building material , workers etc -I don%26#39;t know what the progress will be like by the time you come but they seem to have been building there for ages.

Thank you both so much for the advice. Based on your reccomendation I will go with the apartment on Rue Malonat. For 50 extra euros it is worth it to avoid the loud noise of the trams or construction.

that%26#39;s a very good choice! with the good wine and food you%26#39;re going to consume 50m walking home is better than +600m , IMO. also the old town is what makes Nice the place it is - the mix between old town and 21c, IMO.
