Hi Parisian experts,
I will be travelling to Paris via Eurostar from London in April this year %26amp; making only a day trip. Having problems organising an itinerary - can somebody out there give me some valuable tips?
Of course visiting or seeing the Eiffel, Louvre would be on the itinerary but anything else?

I wouldn%26#39;t visit the Louvre with only 12 hours to spend in Paris. Spend your time wandering about the city and soaking in the atmosphere instead.
There are many, many ways to while away a day in Paris. Here%26#39;s one option. For example, you could spend the day exploring the Marais, the Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame, Saint-Chapelle), the Ile St Louis and the Jardin du Luxembourg.
For alternatives, use www.maps.google.com, the excellent public transport trip planner at www.ratp.fr and a good guide book to make a list of what you most want to see and do.
From Gare du Nord, catch the RER to Haussmann-Saint-Lazare and visit the Palais Garnier. Assuming you get in at 8:00, it%26#39;s now 10:00am.
From there, wander down the Avenue de l%26#39;Opéra to the Musée du Louvre (about a 15 mins walk) and check out the outside of the building, then stroll through the Jardin des Tuileries to the Place de la Concorde (about a 30 mins, not counting time to stop and watch the passing parade).
Then head up the Champs-Elysees to Avenue Winston Churchill and then head down to the Pont Alexandre III past the Grand Palais. Marvel at the pomp and grandeur of Paris%26#39; most ornate bridge - taking in the view of the magnificent Hotel Invalides with the gold-domed Tombeau de Napoleon rising behind it.
It%26#39;s 13:00 and time for lunch. Suggest you go to the %26quot;bistronomique%26quot; L%26#39;ami Jean which is about a 15 min walk from the Pont Alexandre III at 27 Rue Malar.
It%26#39;s about 14:30. Take another stroll (10 or so mins to the Parc du Champs des Mars and the Tour Eiffel.
Visit the Tour (it%26#39;s now 17:00) then cross the Seine at the Pont d%26#39;Iena to the Palais de Chaillot (Trocadéro). Head up Avenue Kleber to the Arc de Triomphe (about a 30 min walk) finding a nice looking cafe along the way to sit and watch the passing parade.
It%26#39;s now about 19:00.
Depending on what time your train departs, catch the A line RER from Charles de Gaulle-Etoile (at the Arc de Triomphe) to Auber and change to the E line RER at Haussmann-Saint-Lazare to Gare du Nord.
Alternatively, catch the metro from Charles de Gaulle-Etoile to Anvers and walk up through the streets of Montmartre and visit the Basilique du Sacré-Couer. Find a nice looking cafe for a bite to eat before heading to the nearby Gare du Nord for the train home. Gare du Nord is about a 20 min walk from Sacré-Couer.
Have fun in Paris...
