Anyone know if there are any buses that regularly run from la rosiere to st.foy /les arcs. Just in case we have a day somewhere else - any suggestions? We are going on the 15th March - Both interm with children who dont mind blues and easy reds.

Hi ,
There is a small ski bus that runs to/from Ste Foy to all the resorts in the valley and down to Bourg-Saint-maurice from memory, it%26#39;s a smallish white bus with the Ste foy name on the side, also i think Autocars-Martin do a skibus around the resorts.

Thanks Jon will look out for the buses and also will look into Autocars- Martin. As you know the area would you be able to give me an idea how long it would take to get across to la thuile to ski the area over there - the children have lessons for 2 half hrs in the morning so I am guessing it would be best for us to head over there for lunch. What time would we need to head back in order not to miss last lifts back to la ros.
What would we do if they closed the lift back into France - is there a bus connection between the two?

I would allow 1-1/4hrs from La Rosiere to La Thuile as the upper part of the uplift uses one of 2 parallel button (1 person) tows which are quite slow given that they are at least 1km long. Coming back it%26#39;s quicker as uplift on La Thuile side consists of much faster chairs.
With regard to alternate transport between La Thuile and La Rosiere I wouldn%26#39;t consider it as it%26#39;s a trip of 2 to 3 hrs thru the Mont Blanc tunnel which would be expensive. If the weather is doubtful the ski route between the 2 resorts will be marked as %26#39;closed%26#39; i.e. they don%26#39;t normally let people over in event of poor forecasts. It%26#39;s not much help in your case but it%26#39;s better to be based at La Thuile and visiting La Rosiere should the weather close in as the upper button tows on the French side are less weather sensitive vs the La Thuile chairs.
