Hi,
I am going to be in La Rochelle from Easter Sunday - Wednesday.
What can I expect? Will anywhere be open at this time?
I am currently looking for some private accomodation for myself and my fiance so any advice with that regard is greatly appreciated also!

Easter is big in La Rochelle, its the start of the tourist season, town will be very busy, while on sunday the only shops likely to be open are the tourist type shops, the market will be open on sunday morning. All other shops open either mon morning or more likely the afternoon. The attractions will all be open too. For events then check with the tourist office website. I heard there%26#39;s a charity dive of one of the towers coming up, it may be at Easter, I%26#39;ll try to find out and let you know if it coincides with your visit.
I%26#39;m not sure what you mean by private accomodation - a gite, chambre d%26#39;hote (B%26amp;B) or hotel? There is accomodation information on the tourist office website, but try to stay central as most b%26amp;bs will not be in the heart of the town. I can help further with advice on location if it helps as we live in the town.
