Montparnasse questions - booking for next weekend

Hi, I%26#39;ve done some research on where to stay and have decided now on Hotel Concorde Montparnasse. I am resticted to hotels available with %26quot;Airmiles%26quot; and have already lost a couple of other choices because they are now no longer available so I need to book quickly.

Is Montparnasse a good location? We will do sightseeing during the day and just want nice meals in casual restaurants within walking disance in the evenings. Is the Latin Quarter where we should go?

Also, is the Airfrance bus the best way to get there, arriving at CDG around 1pm.

Thanks for your help and any tips if you think a different area would be bettter.

there are so many restaurants within walking distance in that area. The tower is not the nicest building in Paris, but Montparnasse is a very good location for going out/ restaurants/métro lines readily available.

%26quot;Free%26quot; hotels are a good thing.

The Air France bus would be perfect.

While you won%26#39;t walk from Montparnasse to many sights, it is a good hub to catch metro and buses. Just look at the transport maps at www.ratp.fr

There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel to walk to, no need to go to Latin Qtr (unless you have a specific place you want to try).

Creperie de Josselin - 67 rue* du Montparnasse (not *blvd M)

Chez Marcel - 7 rue Stanislas

La Cagouille - 23 rue de l%26#39;Ouest

Le Dix Vins - 57 rue Falguière (15th)

Thanks for replies. I%26#39;m really annoyed with myself because I can%26#39;t remember where we were the last time in Paris 15 years ago. I was pregnant and felt sick the whole time so couldn%26#39;t eat anything - disaster -but I remember lots of restaurants next to each other and a lot were Greek. Also near a market. Could that be around the Latin Quarter/ St Germain? I%26#39;d like to find it again and eat this time!

We stayed in that hotel for a week 2.5 years ago. The twin room was big for Paris and it was very nice, nice bathroom too. It didn%26#39;t feel %26quot;cold%26quot; like some %26quot;chain%26quot; hotels. And I liked their breakfast and the restaurant it%26#39;s served in.

Les Cars Air France bus stops near by, just a few minute walk, so that is the easiest way to get there (2 way tickets are better value).

Juliengland, that must have been rue de La huchette, near St Michel. Really nice to walk around, but food quality is not the best in Paris. Cheap, though
