TGV seats

I have been trying to book tickets on the SNCF site. When I get to the seat request, it gives me a choice of carré, salon, or kiosque. On the tgv-europe site these are called square, lounge, and kiosk. I have searched here and it appears that carré is 2 sets of 2 seats facing each other, and kiosque is somehow divided off by a door. Is that 2 arrangements of carré on either side of the aisle with a door? I read somewhere that it seats 8 people but couldn%26#39;t find how. I could not find anything about salon seats. There will be 4 of us, so would the carré be best?

By the way, for anyone who is interested, www.seat61.com has step by step instructions for the SNCF site with little pictures of the screen, but it doesn%26#39;t have these seat types on it.

I don%26#39;t know if this changes anything, but these are 2nd class seats from Paris to Rennes, and I%26#39;m assuming it%26#39;s not a duplex because there%26#39;s no choice for the level you%26#39;re sitting on.

Hi, I%26#39;m on the web site trying to figure this out for you, but don%26#39;t see a real explanation (although if I hypothetically ask for four seats, it appears, as best I can tell, that they are two and two facing each other across a table). I do recall on a trip last summer, when we had six people, that on some trains there were panels between the groups arond tables (something like a booth in a restaurant) and on others there were just the tables with seats on each side. Perhaps it depends which line you are on as to what the seating looks like. Are you booking just for two people, or more? Try doing a %26quot;test%26quot; and then see what it lists as the seats - you should be able to tell at least whether they are together, based on whether the seat numbers are consecutive, etc. Either way, I don%26#39;t think you will find it problematic, and I doubt there is much difference in terms of whether you will like where you are sitting, etc. Have fun!

Thanks for trying. Maybe the ones with the panels are kiosque? I am booking 4 tickets, I just don%26#39;t know which choice to pick. I was figuring that there couldn%26#39;t be too much difference (since they%26#39;re all the same price), so I was planning to book the carré if I couldn%26#39;t figure out the others, I just like to know what my choices are before I choose one, and I really couldn%26#39;t figure out the other two.

Well, I booked the carré seats. I would still like to know what the other types are out of curiosity, if anyone knows. We%26#39;ll be taking a train again while we%26#39;re there but haven%26#39;t gotten to the 90 day mark yet to book them.
